Introduction

Several months ago, THG began coverage of the best SLI systems in the world. This is the second in our series of tests on systems built around NVIDIA's 6800 Ultras graphics engines.

Earlier this summer NVIDIA released its latest and greatest graphics product called the 7800 GTX . After doing our analysis of its latest card, we promised to review the product in a series of high-end systems and compare them against our reference platform. Now as the summer comes to a close, we have been busy looking for the cream of the extreme. What is out there for the hardcore gamer? How about for the IT professional who only wishes to go home at the end of the day and just be able to play instead of monkeying around with his or her system?

In our test labs we have looked at the following systems based on this newest SLI monster:

We will continue to take each of these systems one and at a time and post a review every few days over the next few weeks. After we post all six system reviews, we will have a wrap-up article to pit the systems against each other so you can see how each stands against their high-performance peers. Last week we looked at the All American Computers' pre-built Liquid XS gaming machine and the ABS M6. Today we take a look at Alienware's premier gaming system.
