I have a friend over at my house and we are trying to play the same game together (Counter Strike Source) it works for one of us but not both for instance when i join a server i can play but when he trys to join a server i get disconnected or a "lost connection to server" error

anyone know how to fix this because ive seen others play at the same house with no problem, any settings i should change or something?

How is your network set up? Do you have a router, a router and a switch, just a switch, or just the modem? Or do you even have Cable or DSL? If you have dial up, you will need to have two separate dial up accounts in order for it to work.
