Hello,
I Live in Port St. Lucie Florida six months of the year and would like to install a Bell Express Vu satelite dish (a Canadian company) on my property. Can I legally do this. I have an account with Bell Express Vu in Canada. Phil

If the Canadian company is a program provider -- if this is for TV or movie channels -- it's probable that there would be an objection because the material is only licensed for Canada.

There is a similar situation in Europe where the British Sky satellite tv company is very popular with expatriot Brits retired in Spain and others working overseas.

Sky has an obligation to stop people installing Sky dishes and receivers outside Britain -- but there's a thriving business in doing just that.

When my brother was stationed in Geneva I had to call Sky from London and pretend I was him calling from his home town in Southern England to get his Sky receiver activated in Switzerland via the satellite.

So if you are in a similar scenario be wary of what you tell the company back in Canada.
