I am planning on making my own pc and everything is sorted, all i need to know is which edition of windows 8 to get. I tryed searching on google and amazon but all the cd's say upgrade edition. Will that still install on a new pc? or do i need a different one. Thanks.

Also, windows 8 isnt all that great, windows 7 is easier to use, but the support will shift from 7 to 8 over time.

For a new machine you legally have to put on an OEM....OF 8
But what you really need is 7 lol...imho
IF you are going to use 8 make SURE that EVERY part you buy has 8 drivers for it...

Not entirely necessary. The driver model was not changed (at least not significantly like it was between XP and Vista) from 7 to 8, so even if a particular part does not have Windows 8 specific drivers, Windows 7 drivers for said device often will work just fine.
Ultimately though, double checking driver support for the specific OS you want is encouraged.
