Hello,

Latest camera drivers of Asus are faulty ( last version released in 2009 ). So my notebook's camera shows upside down in windows 8. in fact, it was not perfect in windows 7 as well. But I used to use vista drivers in windows 7. (3 years old machine ) Because Vista driver doesn't work in windows 8, I can't fix it in this way. ( I can finish installation of Vista driver without error, but camera don't work at all ) How can I fix or report that issue?

Thanks in advance.

There aren't those entries in my registry editor. I tried to add them by myself, I tried to find similiar entries, I did some differences randomly in my registry editor. But I could not obtain anything.

Afterward, I tried this http://xzuttz.wordpress.com/2011/02/16/hello-world/ But Windows doesn't let me install asus drivers. Only windows's own driver can be installed automaticly. Can I find the setup file of the camera driver of Microsoft which has installed with windows 8?

İf you don't have another advice, I'll wait Microsoft to fix the problem which does not
let me install configured asus driver.

And also skype can not flip the image :(

Thanks

I Got The Upside down webcam to get fix with ManyCam Software from www.download.com
ManyCam software has an Option to flip the image, and the video. asus did not have drivers for my laptop for windows 8

ManyCam fixed my camera problem with my Asus K601 as well. http://download.cnet.com/ManyCam/3000-2348_4-10593500.html#editorsreview

Be careful when downloading to uncheck the Ask Toolbar and Ask default browser and other unneeded installations that you may get by default. (I got Ask Toolbar anyway but was able to disable it in the browser)
Allowing ManyCam to start with Windows also allowed me to invert the picture for the Windows 8 app as well as for the desktop versions of Skype. Desktop version needed to be rotated, but Windows 8 app needed to be flipped to keep left and right correct instead of a mirror image.

Sorry to dig up such an old question but I finally have an answer after a long time. It even made me register an account on this website so I can answer this question.

The solution:
Upgrade to Windows 8.1 from your Windows 8 (It's free)

I have the laptop ASUS K53E that came with Windows 7 Home Premium. I then upgraded to Windows 8 Pro not too long ago. That's when I realized that the camera is flipped upside down. I found no working drivers or solutions except to install ManyCam to flip the camera as a 3rd party program. That however, was very annoying.

After I upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro yesterday, I thought why not try the drivers again to test my luck? It worked. The Windows 7 64-bit camera driver worked for me on my Windows 8.1 Pro ASUS laptop.

Here are the steps for those who do not care about my story of how I discover the solution:

1. Check to see if your version of Windows 8 is free to upgrade to Windows 8.1
2. If it is, install Windows 8.1 through the Windows App Store. If not, buy Windows 8.1 (Not worth it in my opinion as you already have Windows 8)
3. Download the Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit camera drivers from ASUS Driver Support: http://support.asus.com/download/options.aspx?SLanguage=en&type=1
4. Install the driver.
5. Camera's fixed and it's no longer upside down.
