Hello tom's hardware community here is my question to you; I have an OEM version of windows 7 home premium on my 1TB HDD and I was wondering if it was possible to buy the windows 8 upgrade and upgrade the aforementioned windows 7 but have the windows 8 data stored on my soon to be bought SSD and let me use the SSD as a boot drive i'm not sure if this is possible and don't want to end up buying something i can't use.

Question number 2; The computer i am using i built 9 months ago and want to upgrade with an SSD but i am unsure which one to get I'm torn between a few the OCZ agility 240 GB, the OCZ octane 256 GB, Samsung 830 256 GB, and a few others. I'm looking for a large SSD around 250 GB for £150 or less preferably I will be using it as a boot drive and to hold my games and some files etc. I also want the drive to last me along time preferably 5 years but no less than 2 years I'm open to suggestions and new ideas. Thanks for reading and feel free to contribute and move the post to a different thread if necessary.

My specs:
asus m5a99x evo
amd fx 6100
western digital caviar (black or blue i forget) 1 TB
corsair vengeance 8gb 1600 MHz
plexetor dvd drive
XFX Radeon HD 6870
corsair enthusiast 750 W
