Just a note to be careful with the online store. I think many of us were assuming that the downloadable upgrade would give you the option of 32 or 64, alas not so.
The option that comes up is just "Windows 8 Upgrade" no mention of 32bit or 64 bit, the only thing that raised an alarm for me was the size of the download being 2GB which seemed a little smaller than expected.
You have to dig about a bit on the site to find out that the 32 to 64 option requires purchase of boxed media
A few searches seems to indicate that this has caused a fair bit of confusion and cause for refunds. A rumour or two that they may alter it to give the option, but not confirmed yet. I'll keep an eye out.
So looks like I'll be sticking to trusty old XP for a bit longer. Real bummer too as I'm stuck with mobile broadband for a while so dragged my rig round my mates to borrow his cable connection. At least I have a few updates to do so not a completely wasted journey.
