Looking for a GPU to play DmC $300 budget

I'm looking to replace my old GTX 460 1GB with something that can run DmC (no pun intended) because according to System Requirements Lab my 460 doesn't meet the recommended specs.

My specs are:

CPU: i5-3570K

RAM: 8GB @ 1600 Hz

PSU: OCZ ZT Series 550W 80PLUS

My monitor is an HP 2009m @ 1600 X 900 resolution, but I might be getting this monitor eventually:

Its resolution is 1920 x 1080 I also have a 32 inch 1080p LED-LCD 60 Hz refresh rate (I think it might be higher I'll have to get the box out of the attic) that I can use as a monitor for gaming, if it would be better than the monitor from the link above.

I guess i should also mention that I do a lot of texture/lighting/misc modding with Skyrim, but nothing HD yet.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You get the physx feature with the nvidia card and games like Skyrim should run perfectly fine with mods at 1080p. Of course you'll have to consider the number and the type of mods you'll be using. For example I use the texture pack combiner mod in Skyrim and at 1080p it can eat up nearly all 2048mb of vram from my card. With most games you won't use nearly as much ram, but when using mods, it may tell a different story. With Nvidia you get 2GB of vram unless your doing FTW and other nonfactory models. With AMD you get 2GB with the 7850/7870 and 3GB with the 7950/7970. I have a GTX 680, but I would gladly take an extra gig of ram and use a AMD 7950/7970.
When considering price and performace, AMD is usually the way to go, but I do like physx when utilized in games such as Borderlands 2.

So I'm leaning toward the 7950 Sapphire. Now the question is which Sapphire?

is it worth the extra 40 bucks? has anybody used anything that had the VaporX cooling? How much cooler does it keep the card and what about the speed and noise level?

Sapphire's HD 7950 Vapor-X comes with a large dual-fan cooler that uses the company's famous vapor-chamber technology. On the Vapor-X you will also find a "Lethal Boost" button which switches to a second BIOS with higher clock speeds. With this BIOS, clocks are increased to 950 MHz GPU and 1250 MHz memory.The card is very good my son has it.
