i5-3570k stock temp with stock cooler

Hello,

Just like the title says, I just built a new desktop for gaming purposes and grabbed a 3570k. In the picture below, you can see the temps with stock cooler using Inter Burn Test. Are these temperatures normal. and is it normal to see 35-40 on while idle , and 60-66 during gameplay.

My pc specs;

i5-3570k at stock speeds 3.4
stock cooler, 2 case fans
Sapphire 7970 dual fan
2x 120gb intel ssds
750w corsair psu

Honestly it is a mid-size case, Corsaid 200r Carbide. It has front + back fans that's about it.
I am really wondering after ( let's say ) playing borderlands 2 for 3-4 hours on everythink maxed out I am seeing;

Max Temps with H-CPUID
Core#0 - 69 C
Core#1 - 68 C
Core#2 - 71 C
Core#3 - 68 C
Package - 71 C

is this normal to have around 70 C on stock cooler ?

Temperatures are consistent with expected stock cooler performance. Actually slightly better since with the Intel Burn test, I'd have expected atleast one core to hit 75+C (I can't see the pic you've linked but the above 68-71C range is your Burn test temps right?). You've doen a good hardware Install. your cpu's maximum core temp at which failsafes like throttling or shutdown trigger is a high 103-105C.
Very Good temps in all load ranges: idle, gaming and synthetic load.

with the Intel Burn Test H-Cpuid showed;
Core#0 - 71 C
Core#1 - 72 C
Core#2 - 74 C
Core#3 - 71 C
Package - 75 C

I might actually grab a $20-40 after market cooler from the looks of it.
And satyam thanks for the great answer, one more thing. My fan speed using SpeedFan shows 32% on CPU fan. Should I increase that I almost feel like 32% might be the reason I am seeing 70~ C.
Other fan speeds are like;

Sys - 61%
CPU - 32%
Aux - 61%
Aux 1- 61%
Aux 2 - 100%
Gpu Fan - 25% - probably because its on auto

You may increase the speed but it is anyway dynamically controlled automatically (you should see rpm jump with seed step and Turbo)unless you've manually set it at that speed. It would be better to leave it at auto.
Remember hat Ivy has brought down the TDP considerably (your's is likely 77W) but the fan design is not changed considerably. For that TDP, your system might be determining 32% as all that is required for cpu fan.

As people have already stated, 70c is a bit high but not worrying high. I have the same chip overclocked to 4.4Ghz using the Hyper 212 Evo and mine idles at around 25c and never passes 60c at full load with a stress test, so with the stock cooler, (Which are never that great), 10c higher is about right.

So, if you're a bit worried about the temps or want to OC it a little, the Hyper 212 is brilliant. You can't beat it for cooling at that price, my temps are the same as my friends who has almost exactly the same rig but he spend a lot more cash on a H80 watercooler.

100+ degrees :ouch: That's damagingly high!! What's the voltage going through it, have you overclocked it or changed anything in the BIOS???
