Hey,
I am building a computer and was wondering if the ASRock 970DE3 motherboard will work with the GeForce GTX 660Ti graphics card.

Thanks a lot.

yes. it doesnt matter if the gfx card is pci-e 3.0 or 2.0 the card will work.
as long as your psu has enough amps your golden...

just be aware that the motherboard is a single slot gfx motherboard. it wont support sli or crossfire if you were thinking of adding another down the line. you would need a new motherboard for that... but for single card setups its fine for any pci-e 2.0 or 3.0 card.

It will work. You should have a power supply capable of at least 500W, though. That motherboard seems to be an older model, since it does not support PCI-E 3.0. Any reason to go with that, since you are building from scratch?

But what I'm worried about is the PCI-E 6-pin power connectors for the card. Is it pretty much standard for motherboards to have those?

Just trying to stay on a budget. Any recommendations for a good newer board?

Thermaltake TR2 Series 600 Watt. Quick question, does the PCI-e plug into the motherboard or the graphics card?

the motherboard doesnt have any 6 pin power connectors they are on the power supply unit. it will either have 1 or 2 6 or 8 pin adapters that you will use to power your gfx card. if your psu doesnt have any or just 1 6 pin you may need a 6 pin to molex adapter. but only use this if your sure the psu has enough amps to power the card properly.
its actually better to have a psu that has 6 or 8 pin plugs than use a molex adapter as you can be sure the 6/8 pin will supply the correct voltage.

A 600 watt psu should do the trick though right?
