Yeah, definitely a good idea. Build it on pc part picker and lemme see it. One of my most important things though (pathetically) was that everything fit together color wise. So keep that in mind if you build one.

If you're just gaming, an i5 3570k is enough. I would go for an i7 3770k instead of i7 3930k mainly because X79 is more expensive and not really needed. You could just use that saved money to put into your graphics cards, which are the main factors in increasing FPS.

Yeah, I agree on the 16 gb part, but I just like the thought of having 32. It's really more for the fun of it than anything else. I'd also just prefer to have an 840. They are faster and have gotten better reviews. Besides, I won't care much about dropping another 150 for a faster one in a year or two.

I'm going to do some heavy video editing also, After Effects, c4d/3ds max with boujou motion track. But considering the computer I'm coming from (pentium 510), I don't see myself crying over not getting x79, and like you said, it's another 200 dollars. I'm sticking with 670s, maybe 680, but not going with amd solely because I want the nvidia cuda core tech.
