Hi all, I currently have a Sapphire 7870 OC, but I'm looking for an upgrade. I was wondering whether I should spend around $260 and crossfire my current card or if I should sell my current card and buy a GTX 670, Gigabyte 7970 or a cheap 680.
I only use a single 1920 x 1080 monitor with no plans to move to three any time soon...
Any thoughts? I'm a bit lost at what to do haha :s
Thanks all :)

Solution
to be honest, if you have no plans to upgrade your monitor set up soon, I would either go up to a 7970, or simply wait. I'm not sure why you want to upgrade, but there's very little reason for a 7870 to be insufficient for a 1080p monitor, and a single, top-end solution from the next generation coming out later this year might make more sense for you
This is a difficult one. Personally I would lean for a single larger card since the 2GB limitation on the HD7870 OC will still be there in Xfire.

However 2 HD7870s will be quite a bit faster than one HD7970 in games that have decent Xfire support but as the resolution increases to higher than 1080p the HD7970 will even out with the HD7870s.

Don't bother with GTX670 or GTX680s, they just are not worth it.

Hmmm... LOL I think go Xfire...

I just found out my second PCI-E slot only has four lanes.... So I guess crossfire would be a bit stupid like that.
I guess I'll not worry about it if the next gen comes out soon enough then :) Thanks guys :)

YW! yeah you definately don't want to put a card like a 7870 in a PCIEx4 slot lol. Expect next gen somewhere around late Q3 to Q4 (seem to be the current rumorville consensus)
