I want to build a NAS system running FreeNAS. From what I've read it does everything I hope to accomplish. I want to use Western Digital Red hard drives. I don't need a fancy graphics card, onboard video will be fine. I am looking for a motherboard that has an Intel NIC. I think I want to use an i5 quad core processor. The system will boot from a USB3 thumb drive. I am open to suggestions for a motherboard, RAM, optical drive and case. I am looking for a budget priced case that will hold 4 hard drives and an optical drive. I am not sure what I should need for power and cooling. I welcome any suggestions you have as well and information on parts I may have overlooked.
