My current desktop is an Asus Essentio CG1330-05 and I was planning to either upgrade my current desktop or build a new one for ~$500 based around the fx-6300 because the microcenter has currently has some nice deals so I possibly build a new one and just keep my old desktop to watch movies or something.

How big is the performance difference between a 1035t and an fx-6300 at their stock speeds?(My mobo won't overclock on the asus)

My new build would be this because these parts are all on sale at my local microcenter totaling to ~$400 w/o an OS
AMD FX 6300 Black Edition 3.5GHz Six-Core Socket AM3+ Boxed
MSI R7770-PMD1GD5 AMD Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1
Thermaltake TR2 Series 600 Watt ATX Power Supply
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P Socket AM3+ 760G mATX AMD Mobo
Toshiba 1TB 7,200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive DT01ACA100 - OEM
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3-1333 (PC3-10600) CL9 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit (Two 4GB Memory Modules)
in a Coolermaster HAF 912 case

I would get an better quality PSU from corsair or antec or seasonic or xfx though Thermaltake is getting better

I would grab the USB 3 version of the 760G mb, also I would refrain from OCing on the gigabyte mb or most 760 mb's

You could grab a stronger gpu if you have enough budget, depends on your games and resolution though
