Hi guys, I have been looking at some laptops to buy, and I found one I liked with the AMD HD Radeon 7670M inside. I was just wondering if the 2BG card has any advantage over the 1gb, I will be using a dual monitor setup - 1366x768 laptop screen and 1920x1080 monitor. Would the 2GB model provide me any benefits over the 1GB? I also plan on maybe recording gameplay in games such as Minecraft, Team Fortress 2 and Guild Wars 2. I'm pretty sure 1GB would be fine for MC and TF2 HD recording, but would the 2GB card benefit my recording fps in guild wars 2 at all? I'm happy to disable one monitor while recording. I realise lots of websites say you won't get great fps on gw2 with this card, but I also saw a youtube video of this card performing well with BF3 all ultra settings. Also, does the 2GB model decrease battery life substantially? I'm not going to be gaming on the battery, but would having more graphics memory decrease the battery life? The full specs are:

CPU: Intel Core I5-3210M @ 2.5-3.1 Ghz (Intel turbo boost, don't think it OC's)
GPU: AMD Radeon 7670M (1GB or 2GB)
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
Memory Slot 1: 4GB DDR3 1600Mhz
Memory Slot 2: 4GB DDR3 1600Mhz
HDD: 2.5" SATA 1TB @ 5400RPM
OS: Windows 8 MI 64-bit
Battery: Li 6-4400

Plus a 4GB extra RAM kit (sold by Toshiba) - http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/accessories/memory/ktt-s3c/4g

Thanks for any help and sorry if I'm missing something obvious here :)

2gb won't give you any benefit since you're not playing on a resolution higher than 1080p. Also, I doubt you'll be able to play bf3 well on ultra settings. You'll have to turn down aa or something. I know you can play high @30fps just fine though.

The 2gb vram doesn't impact battery life anymore than 1gb, so don't worry about that.

You could try to game w/out the battery pack plugged in. Thats what I used to do on my laptop when I was connected to an outlet.

Thanks! I am actually going to remove the battery pack while using outlet power most of the time to reduce the heat generated - my current laptop becomes very hot while charging. You are saying the 2GB won't provide any increase, but I may have to get it anyway because it's the one stocked by shops near me - don't want to buy online.

Thanks for your answer!

Remember, needs change. If 2 GB is not an exorbitant difference in cost, perhaps you should go for it.
And if removing battery, consider a UPS, uninterruptible power supply. If power dies, itcould prevent hard dive damage.
