its a really nice system. you would buy it more for the look of it, than outright performance. i bought one for a gaming pc in my living room (i5. 660, 8gig ram. 1tb hdd), it was my first prebuilt computer since 1996, but i just couldnt find anything like it. the digital storm bolt costs a lot more, and the falcon tiki only stands upright.
performance wise, it was good at most games in mid to high settings, more demanding titles like crysis 2 or battlefield 3 stress the system more because it runs hotter than a larger more ventilated box.

I would not recomend ever to buy an alienware x51, i Did it on August of 2013 I have been having issues with the computer since the begining, it restarts when you set the settings on high or ULTRA, blue screens, overheating... this is supposed to be a very good gaming PC i mean its a core I7, 16GB of RAM SSD for the OS, 2 TB of HDD an gtx760 TI OEM (when I first bought it , it was a gtx670) , the temperatures can reach 93 celsius on the nvidia videocard, a tech accepted a couple of weeks ago that the main problem is that the power supply ( 330 W) is not enough for the nvidia GTX 760, which is very true, but why they sold a piece of hardware like that? i cannot believe they did not know about the minimum requirements for the nvidia video card, which lead me to think that they are expecting that the average users does not realize that since they do not exploit this PC to the highest. You can build your own PC with very less money, and with even better hardware.
