I have a ssd 32gb hard drive that i have my OS on, its really close to full and i also have a 1tb D drive inside. i have alot of files on these i was wondering how to merge there space together without losing any files so that i may also continue updating my windows 7? as i have not updated in like a year and a half >.< and my system is 64 bit if that helps anything

is there any way to raid them together without losing any files? or atleast transfer the files(as i no longer have a windows disk) to just pull it off of the 32gb and put it all on the 1tb? or is there a way to make a symbolic link that would work? any ideas to help my situation are appriciated

It's possible to move our OS disk to another disk, but you are going to have to use a tool like hdclone (Windows 7 also has an onboard tool for this) and you are going to lose whatever was on that second hard drive.

My advice is to purchase a larger SSD drive... at least a 64 gb one and clone your Windows partition to that new disk.

It is possible to repartition that larger disk and then move your partition to that larger drive. Again, something like hdclone or another partition management tool should be able to do it outside of Windows, but it's going to be tricky to get it to boot from that new drive.

If you can clear that 1 tb disk, hdclone or similar tool will allow you to move files from the 32 gb drive to the 1tb drive. You will then have to use the Windows partition management tool to repartition your C: drive to use the space your 1tb drive has.

I've never done an SSD to HDD conversion. You might want to read about how to do this and if there are any issues with data integrity. You also can make a Windows 7 disk by going to start (windows symbol) -> programs -> maintenance -> backup and restore.

Read his post.
He has a 32 GB SSD drive that his OS lives on.
He also has a 1TB disk.

He can't extend the system disk because it's full.

He should back up his 1TB disk, copy the 32GB SSD drive's data (with a disk clone tool) and use the 1TB disk for the OS disk. Then he should get rid of the 32 GB SSD drive and copy his data back to the 1TB disk
