A few days ago i was treated to a bang from my power supply when i turned it on at the switch on my wall. this morning my replacement (it was on warranty) came through and i installed it. now my systems fans don't seem as loud when i game, and the system makes a few new noises that i am not to familiar with, like a very slight ting sound when things are loaded, like a web page for example, but not all the time. could this mean that my old power supply was faulty causing my system to be hotter than it should which is why my fans became loud? or has something become damaged? i am quite new to the gaming PC world, and ill be honest i am scared of my system.

REALLY not a good idea to use a computer on an outlet wired to a switch. These outlets can have power fluctuations when turned on/off. I have seen it myself from the way lamps plugged into one such outlet in my house react when I turn the switch on. It sounds like you may have damaged your PSU. I would replace it pronto with a higher rated PSU than what you have now, and stop using the wall switch to power your PC.
