Who told you this? Your IT department? Is this a scanner in a business setting or a home scanner.
Depending on what type of scanner your dealing with there's different ways of doing this. Some scanners are capable of sending it straight to your email. Merely have to login to the scanner and set up a user and email for it.

We need more info, The questions above and make / model of scanner.

Thanks.

Hi there
Thanks for your interest.
My scanner is a HP Printer B010 All in One.
When I try to send a scanned document via email, I get a message that informs me that there is no email program associated with the program?
The program I am using is Scan to Email.
Cheers
Gerry

Hi, Not a problem glad to help where I can. the above message " there is no email program associated with the program (scan program)" Tells me that your Scanner program. Isn't linked to an email program like Outlook, Thunderbird etc. What do you use for your emails?
Whats happening is when you click scan to email it's searching for your email to basically bring up a "new email" with an attached document. So you can do 1 of 2 things. It's unable to find your "email program"
1) Associate it, or link it to your email program. The outlook, thunderbird program mentioned above.
or
2) You can always scan. Save it to your local drive. (desktop, my computer, documents w/e.) Then go into your email you use and send it as an attachment.

Let me know what email program you use and in the mean time i'll take a look at your scanner and see how easiest to make the association. ;)

K. Thats fine not everyone is a techie ;).

Scan the item you want scanned and save it where you'll remember it. Like on the desktop.

Then
Log into your email account, create a new email message, and then click or tap the link to attach or insert a file. (normally looks like a paper clip)
In the pop-up window, browse to the destination on the computer where you saved your scan. (so back to the desktop or w/e you saved your scan)
Double-click or double-tap the name of the scanned file to attach it to the email.
After that your ready to send the email :).
