Hi, I have been playing Far Cry 3 on the very lowest settings for a while now and have become sick of not being able to experience the brilliant game the way it was intended to be experienced.
Anyway, I digress. I have no idea why my PC cannot handle Far Cry 3 even on medium graphics without going over 30 FPS. I know it's cliche for someone with a low end PC to say "Well it can play Skyrim on max settings fine.", but this is true. I have also tested my PC with Crisis 2 on max, Grand Theft Auto IV and many more all on the highest settings.
I would appreciate any useful feedback on why my PC cannot handle Far Cry 3 without being on the lowest graphics. If the rest of my specs are necessary, I have put them below:

AMD FX-4100 Quad Core 3.6 Ghz
8Gb RAM
XFX HD Radeon 6770 [1Gb]

P.S I have had a history with my CPU/PSU playing up in titles such as "Saints Row: The Third" and "Portal 2" which have been solved by using a little program called "Orochi-CEG" that increases the FPS of the games tenfold. I have tried using this to no avail. I wonder whether there is possibly a program that would have the same effect and make playing the game a lot more fun.

Not to be mean or anything, but i sincerely doubt you were able to play Crysis 2 on MAX settings while still maintaining above 30 FPS. I suppose you could maybe if you were at a very low resolution.

Well the best way to see is to overclock your FX4100 and see what happens. The thing is very overclock friendly with the unlocked multiplier. If you're lucky, you can get 4.6ghz with stock voltage and the stock cooler, although I'd recommend a better cooler, the Coolermaster Hyper TX3 is a good choice. To be honest the FX 4100 was a poor CPU at stock clocks when it came out, if you can get the FX 4300 or even better, an FX 83xx. If that does nothing then the GPU is the issue. The HD6770 is a rebadged HD5770 which, although still a good card, isn't really up to 1080p anymore.

turn your resolution to 800x600 because that's how bad it looks. no way is that game being played by a 6670 with decent settings. People who own better hardware and better video cards can't play that game with high frame rates. In 5 years a card and cpu will come along so we can all play it with comfort at high res and high frames.

maybe the clown who posted that has no idea...........

He could do that with a minimum of investment, for instance installing a msi R7870 HAWK,which offers for only around $250,an extraordinary Graphic-Performance.For instance on my PC,A10 5800k CPU and my HAWK Graphic card,I'm playing fluently Max Payne 3 with the Graphics settings set to max.=D.Life is a daily Miracle.Universal Love is an Eternal One.=D.
