i have 1 gtx 660 ti should i get another or get a 680 i have never done SLI before so i have no clue to problems i may get

Get the 680 instead of SLI. its better than 2 660 ti's

The 680 will give you much more reliable framerates if you can afford it after selling your 660.

Some benchmarks have proof of two Gtx 660ti in SLI outperforming gtx 680, if you have money to burn then get a 680 if you plan to play on multiple monitors , but even a 660ti is playable thru eyefinity setups. U cant go wrong either way, I have a 660ti MSI PE OC and its working like a beast for me, im planning to SLI in the future when prices drops even more..

Get a second gtx 660ti cause when sli works, it works like a charm. Nvidia is great at drivers so u shoudnt face any problem. Though not all games are optimized.
