Which setup should i go with?

i5-3570k, gtx 670

or

hd 7950, and right now i have an amd 965 4x be, so if i were to change to intel cpu, i would need a new mobo, maybe a case etc.

plus i dont know if an hd 7950 or the 670x fits into a Cooler Master 335 case.

also i would like to play games on ultra setting with a smoothe performance (especially the upcoming Rome2: Total war)

Elite 335 or 335U ?
If it's the first, only cards up to : VGA card length: 230mm / 9.05 inch

You need a new motherboard for the intel cpu, a z77 one if you plan to overclock the cpu, if you don't, an i5-3470+h77 motherboard will do(there's also the z75 pro 3 for a good price).
I recommend the 670 gtx, it's cheaper, or the 660 ti/7950 for less.
Keep in mind most won't fit in your case if it's the elite 335, so i recommend a new case as well, if you can afford it, like the corsair 200R.

I would get a fx 8350 which is very close in gaming to the i5-3570k which i'm assuming this is for and you keep your old motherboard. The case you have doesn't have enough room for a high end graphics card so you would need a new case, if you have certain needs or wants for a case just say. The graphics card is really up to you a gtx 670 is more than a 7950 but will have somewhat better performance and the 7970 in the same price bracket as the 670 is slightly ahead. the 7970 though has a higher power consumption and tend to be nosier due to heat.

yes,this would be for gaming pc (no video editing etc) for a single monitor (1920x1080)
