Unlikely. Sims 3 is a serious resource hog for what it is. My Wife's computer runs a AMD Phenom II 965 OCed to 4 Ghz with 8 GB of memory and an Nvidia GTX 570 and that barely runs it on high. Its not quite maxed out. That's on a 1080 monitor. I would guess you would hit medium settings?

Thank you for replying. Is it due to the graphics card then? Having it built specifically for sims3&the guy suggested having a CLUB 3D RADEON HD7750 1GB but he thought it may run ok without. I'm not that clued up with pcs!

No problem.

I think Sims uses both the CPU and GPU. CPU has to compute all the stuff the sims are doing in the world and rendering all those things on the map is fairly GPU intensive. I think video memory is also a factor. Ultimately I don't think the game is coded all that well. Considering how old the game is I'm amazed what hardware it takes to run the game on high settings.

I think the tough part is going to be getting the game maxed out. As I mentioned above I think it takes a lot to do that. At the sametime I don't think it takes much to get the game going on low settings and I'd guess that an HD 7750 1 GB could get you at medium settings just fine.
