Hi.

I have a little problem with PC temperatures. Few weeks ago i got an used HP dx5150 MT
Specs:
Motherboard: Should be MS-7050 2.0
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor 3800+ running @2Ghz
VGA: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB
RAM: 2x Hynix DDR 512MB/ 1GB total
Harddrive: MAxtor 6V160E0
PSU: CHIEFTEC 550Watt

The case was broken, CPU had a stock cooling + one 92mm rear fan (exhaust) & it had so much dust inside _like no-one ever cleaned the pc. So i cleaned it up, replaced the broken case with one i already had - the motherboard fit inside so i threw the broken case out + it has a little more space than before. I had 2x Apacer DDR 1GB ram sticks laying around so i put them in and everything worked. I was running Speedfan to see the temperatures /speedfan Temp2 was idling @58...62C and 66...74C while gaming +downloaded HWmonitor and i ran both speedfan and hwmonitor at the same time, turned out that temp2 was CPU temperature. I decided to get some new fans so today i got: 2x 80mm rear fans (exhaust), 1x 120mm side case fan (intake) & replaced the stock CPU cooler with Silencer 64 Ultra..../cleaned motherboard & the case, cleaned cpu with 70% alcohol -blew some dust out of the psu with compressed air can & put all back together.

1st boot with new fans - all fans spinning, hdd & optical drive working, but no image @display + pc automatically shuts down after a minute or so. Opened the pc, checked the wires/connectors & tried again - nothing....
took everything apart + cleaned it up again + cleaned up cpu re-applied thermal paste & put it all back together while checking every wires/connectors - again no image @display and pc turns off after some time. Last thing i tried was removing the CMOS or BIOS? battery which should reset the settings & it worked. Got the display working, but still pc turned off while displaying an error:
CPU fan has failed
&system fan has failed
I went to bios & let it be for 15 minutes while monitoring the cpu temp - which was @34-37C + i disabled the system fan error check and at next boot it worked. *Probably cause of the new fans running slower than the older one's /stock cpu fan was running 1000+rpm in bios - new fan was running less than 500rpm*

**CPU fan is connected to the motherboard - 3pin connector
Case fan is connected to the motherboard - 3pin connector
2x rear fans are connected to the power supply**

After getting everything working again - i ran speedfan to monitor temperatures and temp2 was 70-77C....hwmonitor CPU temp was the same - i let the pc to be idle for some time & then restarted it and went straight to bios to look at cpu temp which was 45...46C
I downloaded HWinfo32 and checked the temperatures from there & it is saying that temp2 in speedfan and CPu temp in Hwmonitor is actually Motherboard temperature

been running prime 95 for about 45minutes with:
2x rear fans running @100% (they'll be running always @100% -connected to psu)
cpu fan running @100% -manually set from speedfan
case fan running @100% -manually set from speedfan
graphics card fan running @100% -manually set from speedfan
temperatures are:
GPU 53C
Temp1 50C
Temp2 71C /*note that temp has not changed before / after i started running prime 95 minimum-maximum value is 71 **note 2 i set speedfan automatically to boot up with windows - so temp2 has not changed since the last time i turned on the pc
Temp3 51C
Temp4 0C
CPU 46C
Local 45C
Remote 2 46C
HDD 39C

I dont know what to do.... should i be worried about it? maybe it's just broken or faulty temp....?

The new cpu cooling fan has a thermistor. Is it possible that the cpu fan thermistor temperature can show up in speedfan, hwmonitor.....etc? I turned off the pc and let it cool down - the temperature that was staying @71C all the time is now @50C with no change at all in idle mode neither when running cpu @100%
