I bought a system and put it together myself about 2 months ago and decided to hold off on a gpu so I could get a higher end one. However, after purchasing an msi 7950 (twin frozr 3) I'm finding that something is wrong... I plug it in and the display works and everything boots, but after installing any of the drivers and restarting the computer it will freeze during "starting windows". And I can't just play without any drivers or anything because games will say renderer does not work, vga adapter not strong enough, etc... Please help me fix this! I don't want to use intel hd 4000 anymore

Maybe your card is not getting enough juice from your PSU
Did you plug in the power cords properly ?
Do you have a good 500watt or more powersupply?
whats your psu model no & wattage spec?
Whats the full pc spec??

I have a coolermaster silent pro 750w, I know its not top quality but it should provide enough power. I did notice that fans power on, but msi afterburner does not detect the card.

Try connect the monitor to the card with different ports there should be to DVI ports. If all the ports same result then go to device manager select your card see any yellow mark on or not, try to upgrade the driver by clicking on it. If still doesnt work your card 99% has developed a fault in hardware level so it simply cannot power it self to 3d mode or gaming mode. If its a hardware fault im a afraid we the enduser cant do much about it. You can try contacting direct manufacturer with your purchase reciet, they might issue RMA replacement for you. Goodluck

The display works... when I use the hdmi cable I get a display that works fine. But oddly the card is not detected and under device manager all I see is my intel hd 4000 and "standard VGA" and when I go to properties on that it just says amd chipset or something like that. I just don't get how the card could power on and be used to output display but still not even be detected?
