I really want to overclock my CPU to at least 4.2 ghz but can't find a way to do it stable. I can't find a video anywhere on the internet, so I came here.
PC specs:
Mobo: Gigabyte 970a-UD3
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE
Graphics Card: MSI R7770 PMD1GD5
RAM: G.SKILL RIPJAWS X (8GB)

My 955 is at 4.2 for everyday use 100% stable, then again I have some extreme cooling. I was at 4.0Ghz on my 212+ though.

3.8Ghz is a good goal to start with and if you can get that stable with reasonable temps/vcore then 4.0Ghz would be a good next goal.

Finding the max you can get out of your chip is a very time consuming task, just follow the black edition overclocking guide here on tom's and the many other available guides that can be found via google.

I'd also highly suggest you follow written guides rather than video guides.
