Hi guys, I recently notice that my 7870 is becoming hotter as compared to when I first bought it.
When I first bought it, the tempertature normally stays about 35c at idle with the default fan speed (34%) and when load it doesn't go over 70~75c.
but recently it's rising to 45~47c at idle and it went up to 80c when I was running some games.

I've got the card for about two months now, please tell me what I should do.

By the way if I add more case fan will it lower the tempertature? (as I only have one rear exhaus right now) If it does would side exhaust be better or should I do top exhaust?

Thanks in advance

Solution
Are the ambient/room temperature is also increase? (it could happen because the ambient temp is also rising making cooling is harder)
had u try cleaning the dust in the card and in the case?

side intake that blow directly to the card will had max effect for cooling the card, top exhaust usually will help cooling the processor and vrm...
any fan config u pick, it will help increase the airflow/circulation inside the case that eventually will help cool the card...

Has your ambient (room) temperature changed significantly?
Basically has it gotten warmer since you bought the card, as that is a possible explanation.

To test whether your case airflow is sufficient. Run Furmark with the side panel on and off, if there is a significant temperature difference than you know there is a case airflow issue. Can be remedied by adding more fans, given that you only have an exhaust, would start with adding some front intake fans.

The room tempt should have lowered since I bought it in January (summer in Australia). Right now my only option is exhaust because I only have one more fan connection slot thing on my mother board. I haven't try clearing out the dust yet, but I'll try that, thanks.

Some "high end" case fan are included with connector for use with 4 pin molex from PSU.. (so u can add case fan as much as u like.)

so it will not needed to plug with motherboard header/pin but u will lose the rpm controlling function...
