Ram Campair of 32bit or 64bit

Windows 32 bit only supports a maximum of 4 GB Ram.
Windows 64 bit supports up to 64 GB Ram.

If you use a discrete video card you need to figure in the ram on the card also. Windows will count the ram on the card towards the total ram installed and allocate it before the system ram.

A 32-bit OS can actually only use up to 3.25GB of memory (with a 32-bit CPU). If you use your motherboard's integrated video controller, it will likely use your main memory as well for video memory. The others are correct, Win 7 32-bit can use up to 4GB of memory (keeping in mind the use of memory by an integrated video controller).

There is no relationship between the main memory (on the motherboard) and a discrete video card in determining how much main memory the system can use. These are separate from a management standpoint.

The ram limit for 32-bit versions of Windows 7 is 4GB, but when it comes to the 64-bit versions of 7, the amount of memory that the it can address will depend on which edition you are using.

Here are the upper ram limits for the different editions of Windows 7 64 bit:

Starter: 8GB
Home Basic: 8GB
Home Premium: 16GB
Professional: 192GB
Enterprise: 192GB
Ultimate: 192GB
