Hey guys, my build-out is completed. 1) Seem to remember reading somewhere that you load drivers (and the motherboard DVD?) before installing a Windows OS. That makes little sense to me, but I want to check to see if my memory is playing tricks with me. 2) I have a Seagate 1 tb hard drive and a Crucial SSD. On powering up, my Boot Device LED lights up. Does this mean I have to go into BIOS and specify the boot priority? 3) I have an Antec 1100 case. The two integral fans, a 200 and a 120, are not operating from the motherboard connection. The motherboard (an ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe) does regulate the fans according to need. Could this mean that with no loads on the system and without any corresponding temperature increase, the fans are simply shut down? Any advice on these matters will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, jrhill

Solution
windows

mb drivers

graphics driver

Yes you need to set boot order so the dvd drive is first .
Disconnect the power from the seagate hard drive so there is only one possible drive windows can install to
Later you will make changes in BIOS and one of those will be to make the boot drive first boot

Solved the fan problem by connecting directly to the PSU. And with the advanced BIOS menu, I was able to set the boot priority with optical drive no. 1 and the SSD no. 2. Now, final question. I have Graphics card driver disks, an mb intel chipset support DVD, and a sound card driver CD. Do I load these before or after installing Windows 7 Ultimate? Many thanks for your help, jrhill
