Speakers will not turn up manually-very quite (brand new PC Build)

I recently built a brand new computer; only re-using my HDD with windows 7 on it, and my HD Radeon 6750. After installation, I plugged in all of my peripherals, and everything works just fine; however, the volume of my speakers is extremely quiet, and I cannot manually turn them up using the device that came with my Logitech Speakers. The only thing that seems to work is the sub-woofer. I can manually turn that up. The two front speakers remain quiet, and I am unable to turn them up. My MB utilizes Real tech 7.1 on-board audio. I also have double and triple checked that the wires are plugged in to the correct holes in the back of the MB. Do I need to go out and buy a sound card just to have audio?

System:
MSI 990FXA-GD65V2
AMD Vishera 8320 3.5 ghz
Corsair Carbide 200R
Corsair CX 750 PSU
AMD Radeon 6750
ADATA 2x2 (4 gigs total) Gaming Series Ram (1600 speed)
Seagate 7200 RPM 1TB HDD

Did you do a clean install of windows or at least repair and install all your motherboard drivers?
