I'm deciding between the AMD FX-8350 and the Intell Core i5-3570k and leaning more towards the 3570k but would like to know what others think. It's more for gaming than anything else.

More about : 8350 core 3570k

Overall I say the FX 8350, for pure gaming the i5 3570k!

You will do fine with ether. I have a AMD FX-8120 AMD FX8350 and a i5 3570K all gaming rigs and can tell you that both of my AMD rigs can keep up with my i5 in every way and in every game I have played. I bought into the i5 hype and sad to say that is all it really was. Yes it is a nice CPU but it is in no way better than ether of my AMD FX rigs.

Well to counter that I have both in my household FX8350 with HD7850 and I5 2400 with HD6870 and with the FX at stock the 2400 gets about 5% fps more at 1080P in few games.

Get an 8350 it is great for gaming (I run Crysis 3 Very High everything 60-80fps always), more future proof. I5 is great for gaming too, but if you want serious multitasking or any vid or cad editing, 8350 it is.

Same boat here I have 2 identical rigs, One in my office I use for work (3d rendering) and one for gaming at home.

I built the core 5 system for gaming.. I ended up bringing the AMD to home.. WHy? Because there is no tangible difference whatsoever performance wise. However, the 8350 runs way colder hence quieter.

So yeah.. I kinda like more the 8350

I forgot to mention both rigs are cooled with custom 212 EVO, the intel still runs way hotter/nosier.
