I recently bought an Astro a40 which comes with the Astro mixamp. Since it hasn't shipped yet (will take 1 more week) I was wondering about the following things.
First of all, I'm using a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4 which has digital outputs and it also supports the Dolby Digital Live 5.1:
1. I know its not necessary to get a soundcard for the headset but if I do will I be able to notice the difference? (Using the digital outputs)
2. Is the mixamp alone comparable to a soundcard ($100-$200)?
