Intel Pentium G2130 vs AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition

I have been posting a LOT of CPU questions, trying to find the best Low Budget CPU, and have finally come to a tie :heink: . I'm planning on playing FC3, Skyrim, Planetside 2, and so on..

SOOOOO witch one?

Pentium: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Phenom: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

they are both $99, and I am leaning towards the Phenom, because I can overclock it. And will the Pentium bottleneck a Sapphire HD7770 OC/GHz edition?

:EDIT: Sorry, I meant the Pentium G2130

The Phenom being a quad it will run threaded games (more and more games will support it) better as well.

The phenom is the way to go. Even if you don't OC it will satisfy your needs. I have a 970 BE at stock speeds I have never felt an urge to upgrade it for gaming. I'm thinking about getting an 8 core vischera but only because I'm starting to do video rendering and running some 3d applications. But for gaming the 965 is superior to the pentium and you'll be very happy

would about 4.0GHz on the X4 965 be a safe OC speed? I have a good case fan, but will I need a CPU fan as well?

A good after market cooler is a must have for a overclock to around 4GHz.

Yeah but for the price of a cooler you are better off getting the fx-4300 or a 6300. Just my opinion

Yes, I am planning on either this or the FX-6300, though the GX-4300 is $30 cheaper, so does the FX-6300 have any advantages? Thanks

6300 can handle more threads.

Anything else? I mean, will there be a noticeable difference on say Planetside 2 with the FX-4300 instead of the FX-6300? I know Vishera is better but...

They are both Vishera just an X4 vs X6 with 0.3GHz difference in clock speed in favor to the X4 but overclocked they should reach similar clock.

So got with the 4300, because it is cheaper? I am going to save every penny possible, and how does the 965BE do against the 4300?

Sorry if this sounds angry, as it is not meant that way but EARGHHH stop giving me CPU benchmarks, as I cannot read them. Is the FX-4300 worth the extra $20? I mean, I plan on doing YouTube videos, so I want one good for editing too.. And say I went to GoodWill or something and found a FX-4300 for maybe 5 dollars more than the B965, would it be worth the extra $5 Thanks, I just want to get this right, as this will be my first build (I have a s***y laptop with only 20 FPS on Minecraft :|) and I want to do some gaming vids, as well as real life ones, which means either Camtasia or Vegas

Also, not to overload you too much, but what if we threw an i3-3220 in here... Just saying...

The FX 4300 is hardly worth it but can overclock higher. The 3220 is OK but I would get the FX or the 965BE over it.

OK then just go with the 965. If you are serious about editing then get the 6300. But remember what I said before, you'll be happy with the phenom AND saving money. If things get serious in the future then buy an 8-core steamroller. That's what I would do

will do, and I'll get an AM3+ MOBO, just in case, but for 97 bucks, the 965 is a steal!
