Hi there.
I am not happy with the current performance of my 2x HD 6990 crossfire rig. I have found no difference from using one or two of the cards together when playing games (having used drivers and cap profiles). I am therefore assuming my Phenom 1100t processor is a bottleneck. As such, I would greatly appreciate some advice on my planned investment in either i5 2500k or i7 3930k cpu (but also open to suggestions).
My current PC Spec:
AMD 1100t cpu
Asus Crosshaire V Formula mobo
1200 Corsair PSU
14GB DDR 3 Corsair Dominator GT memory
2 x AMD HD 6990 Graphics
PS: Although I use my pc predominately for gaming, I also like to have many programs running in the background whilst gaming, such as multiple tabs open in my web browser; and I mention this as the i5 2500 k is a quad core processor, and I don't want to lose performance on other applications.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
