Just for some reference, I have the i5-3570K and I'm running it on the Asus P8Z77-V LK motherboard and I'm very happy with it. I especially like the UEFI BIOS and one-click CPU overclocking. Also the suite of tools that came with it are pretty nice as well.

Your budget allows for an even more feature-rich motherboard like the PRO or DELUXE versions of that board. Personally at your price I'd be looking at the Maximus V boards which are geared toward gamers, but if you're really not going to overclock it's overkill, so you could just save some money and go with a lower board.

If you wanna spend about $200 the DELUXE or PRO is your best bet. To save even more the LK that I have is currently $119.99 after MIR on Newegg. (The LK is the SLI version, LX is crossfire version).

I only know about the Asus boards and that's just my two cents. Yeah there are lots of other great boards out there by other manufactures (ASRock seems pretty popular), but I'm only knowledgeable on the Asus boards.

Good Luck!

i have read alot of good feedback for asus boards actually z77 was one of the ones that i was looking at but wasn't sure. I agree that paying extra is not neccessary if im not oc then i might as well save some. Do you run on 1600 or 1333 ddr?
Thanks for the help

My RAM is running at 1600. I should mention that depending on what RAM you buy the Mobo may default it to 1333, but a quick change in the BIOS will set it to the correct 1600. I can't remember the technical reason it does this off the top of my head, but its very easy to change in the BIOS. I think its for compatibility/safety with certain brands of RAM. These boards are designed to let you overclock your RAM for those who chose to do so (not me though) and can handle a range of frequencies. The LK for instance takes DDR3 2400(O.C.)/2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333 and up to 32GB of it.
