Good MoBo for the AMD FX-8350 8 core??

I know it doesn't have 8 physical cores but it seems to benchmark pretty well so im going to try it out. Im an Intel guy normally and have no idea what to look for with an AMD setup.

I was looking at the MSI 970A-G46 AMD 9 Series, http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1963472&sku=M452-6253

But just looking for some advice from that others may know more than I of AMD setups.

PS. Id also like to support 2133Mhz Ram.

Also, What kinda performance difference is there in the 1866 to the 2133mhz? And what is best for needing good speed. Also taking into consideration of the CPU im using. the AMD FX-8350.

Thanks

  1. I'm running an AMD set up right now and have pretty much always, I'm really picky with my boards though and only go with the high end motherboards and don't bother with the lower ends. Again, nothing really wrong with them, just kinda picky.

What I'm using right now, and it's pretty good but the BIOS is kinda old fashion.

Is what I got a friend hooked up with and it's pretty all round good.

Is another good choice. Again that's for full featured high end boards.
  2. Do you want the best motherboard for that CPU?

    1) ASUS Crosshair V: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131876

Do you want a good motherboard that can handle very good that CPU and give your the option of good overclock?

    1) Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128509

Do you want something good but cheap?

    1) MSI 990FXA-GD65: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130677&Tpk=gd65&IsVirtualParent=1

Now all depends of your budget and preference.

Well the 1st one.... Good God that looks insane. Pry a little over the top for me... The 2nd looks good, the 3rd pry getting a little cheap. I also looked at the MSI like the one you linked but GD80V2 how would that compair to the Gigabyte one you sent?
Im kinda partial to Asus and MSI.
  4. Well I had an special feeling for that MSI GD65 since I used for extreme overclocking with a 1090T and the performance and stability was very good, in fact, I hit 6.5GHz with that motherboard. Take a look of this review: www.overclocking-tv.com/content/reviews/11420/msi-990fxa-gd65-reviewed/

I had not opportunity for test the GD80 V2, but as far as I know this model have much power phases that means better overclocking stability and more PCI-E lines.
  5. Just a heads up the 8350 only suports up to 1833 ram...
