My new laptop has 500GB hard drive, which leaves about 470ish GB, minus recovery partition and OS, there is 419GB left. The way I always format my drives, is a small partition (usually 40GB) for the OS and the rest for my other shit.

But I want my "other shit" partition to be EXATLY 400GB. In the past when I tried this, I did 1024x400 to get 409600MB, but it came out to 399GB! I'm OCD for some reason, I want it to be exactly 400. Not 400.1 GB, not 399 (lol) How much should I give it? 409650? idk, i don't want to try it out because it takes sooooo long with the program I'm using.

Solution
try this 400 (GB) x 1024 (MB) x 1024 (KB) x 1024 (B)

So u can enter = 429496729600 Bytes or 419430400 KBytes or 409600 MBytes in partition size..

U will get exactly get 400 GBytes
