Hi, I just recently built my own custom computer and I had to rma my internal hard drive because I received a defective product. Before my hard drive went defective I was able to download windows 7 and a few other software and utilities for my computer. After I sent the hard drive back for a replacement I immediately went out and bought an ssd hard drive so that I could use my computer. I then tried to download windows 7 again but this time it took a long time for the POST to disappear and it is set to 3 seconds. After the POST would disappear it would immediately go to the reboot and select proper boot device as if the boot priority was set to my ssd hard drive.I then turned off my computer and went to my BIOS to change the priority but the same thing keeps happeningafter I change the priority to optical drive. Also it sounds like the optical drive is trying to start up but fails before it can do anything. Another thing I noticed was that my motherboard has the device_boot led light on solid red so I tried the memok! Button and the CMOS battery and nothing changed. Im really stuck here and if anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it.

Also my specs are:

Asus P8Z77-V PRO
Intel i5 core processor 3540k quad core
Intel solid state drive 520 series 120gb
Corsair vengeance 8gb ram ddr3
Thermaltake tr2 rx 750w bronze
Asus gtx 550 ti direct cu
Windows 7 home premium 64-bit

Has the SSD been partitioned, formatted and have an OS installed on it? If not, then it's not considered a bootable device.

Did you place a bootable CD/DVD in the optical drive and then try to boot up with that?

You can also use a bootable USB stick.

Alright so my friend suggested to me that my optical drive might be broken and I installed one if my other optical drives into the custom computer and successfully passed the reboot part and installed windows but now it freezes when it tries to expand windows files
