Can I delete..

I have a ton of pictures I want to save. And this is my first hard drive. I'm not very techy. Once I move my pictures to my Toshiba portable hard drive, is it safe to delete them from my computer. I didn't get a manual and cannot find one on online.
When I plug the TPHD back in, it seems to put all the pictures back on my computer and now my space is almost used up and computer is running slow. How do I know they are safely stored on the portable hard drive so I can remove the ones on my computer?

Plug the portable HDD into another system to verify that the pictures are there. If they are on the portable drive you can delete them from your hard drive.

What about backups? What happens if you drop your portable drive and it doesn't spin up anymore?

I did, and they are. But you know how precious pictures can be. I just want to be sure they are saved to the Toshiba, before deleting from computer. Also, every time I plug it in, will it automatically download the pictures each time, so it fills up my computer again?

OHH, good point! Yes it does, and I've done it once. Now to figure out how to see the pictures without downloading them all to my computer.... again lol Thank you so much!!!

when the auto run box pops up, click on open folder to view files.
