Two things I love

1. Razer's non-slip coating on the naga epic and deathadder 3.5g

and...

2. My IBM Model-M clone keyboard

In a nutshell, I want to apply the first onto the second.

Does anyone know the secret mixture of chemicals that makes up Razer's non-slip coating? Does anyone know of a diy tutorial on this? I've been searching for hours but to no avail.

Thanks in advance!

i wouldnt. razer has applied this coating to keyboards in the past and there have been issues with wear performance.

provided you could coat the keys in a similar manner how will you mark they keycaps? unless of coarse you mean to coat the fram only or prefer a das-keyboard blank look.

your best bet would be a rubberized spray coating. you would need to find something which can be applied in a thin coat (so avoid products meant for undercoating cars). plasticote meant for tool handles may also work but will give a much thicker coating which may interfere with key movement and balance.

if you want to match your mouse i would suggest using vinyl dye instead.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I placed an order for plasti-dip, which may be too thick, but we'll see. I also ordered some fluorescent green acrylic paint which I'll use the paint the sides of the key caps as well as hand paint the letters, unless I can find a way to stencil them on. Then I'll mount a little UV light at the top of the keyboard, and that'll be my back light work around. I know this sounds ludicrous, but wait for the results!
