My hard drive has a os (windows 7) on it from the previous computer so i just connected it to the new motherboard which only had SATA 3gb. when i start up the pc it tells me to eboot and select a boot device, the thing is it reads it when i go into the set up it shows the wd sata hd. Any solution?

You didn't make it clear, but if you are trying to boot in to the Windows 7 installation which came from another system, that will not work on a different motherboard. You have to re-install Windows in that situation, either with factory recovery discs or with a Microsoft Windows installation disc.
