I recently bought a Powercolour HD6850 on ebay and when installed found its running 48c idle and up to 108+ running games, even when games shouldn't be pushing the card much.
Needelss to say i contacted the ebay shop i bought it from and he said it was running fine in his machine. Told me to update drivers. was running most recent, asked me to download Afterburner and such and check temps, i did already double check them with speed fan and another program but did as he asked.
Again needless to say i am looking to return the item for refurnd or replacement.
The strange thing is that even tho it registers these temps (not overclockced of course) i am getting no artifacting and anything i run with it seems lovely and smooth and no systems crashes.
Was wondering if you clever guys would know of what was wrong with the card at all.
