I have a Toshiba L305D-S5946. Up until recently, my Razer Boomslang 2100 was working just fine. I turned on my laptop 4 days ago and the mouse wasn't working. I plugged in a retractible optical HP mouse and it wasn't working. I tried multiple ports with the same results: The HP mouse resulted in "USB Device not recognized" message, while the Razer boomslang didn't even produce the device connected sound, nor did it appear in the device manager. I plugged in my flash drive and it worked perfectly. The next day, I tried 3 other mouses: a Logitech M310 and an M185, with similar results to the HP mouse, and a third wired mouse with the same result as the Razer mouse. All of these mouses have been confirmed to function properly on other computer systems. I have Windows Vista 32 bit, and I am at a loss for what I should do.

UPDATE: An answer is no longer necessary. I have solved this by removing the battery pack, waiting, and replacing the battery pack.
