Hey guys I just built a new computer about a week ago and every now and then the screen goes black for a second and then everything is back to normal. I'm currently using a HDMI plugged into the video card to connect it to my monitor is it possible that the cord is bad?
Power Supply: Thermaltake TR-700 700W CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K GPU: gtx 660 ti superclocked HDD: WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB Desktop Hard Drive OS: Windows 8 64-bit RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB PC12800 DDR3 MOBO: MSI Z77A-G45 Socket 1155 Motherboard - ATX, Socket 1155, Intel Z77 Chipset, DDR3 2800 MHz (O.C.), SATA III (6Gb/s), RAID, 8-CH Audio, Gigabit LAN, USB 3.0, PCIe 3.0
Does the screen blacking happen during anything specific? I noticed that when switching users, startup and some tasks that switch to full screen the hdmi connection creates a delay. I had an amd gpu that would take several minutes to come back on with the hdmi connection and amd requested me to send it back for an rma I now have the 660ti and there is a slight delay on these tasks still but only 30 seconds or so. I would try contacting the manufacturer since it is most likely the card causing it.
