Default gateway not available

Hello, I'd like to start off by saying that I'm not the most computer efficient person but I just recently bought a new laptop (Asus x401u) and am currently having difficulties connecting to the internet via wifi. I run Windows Diagnostics and "The default gateway is not available" keeps popping up, along with "DHCP is not enabled for "Wireless Network Connection"."

I know that the wifi works fine, as there are 2 other laptops, along with all the phones in the house connected to it.

The laptop connects to the internet and works like a charm when i plug an ethernet cable into it, however, i just can't seem to get a wireless connection working. This laptop is literally 2 days old, so I'm not sure what the problem may be.

I did some research and came across a couple solutions such as /ipconfig release/renew, and uninstall and reinstall the network adapter drivers but so far, nothing has worked. The network adapters listed under device manager are 1) 802.11n Wireless LAN Card, 2) Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter, and 3) Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.

Another thing that might be worth noting is that for some reason, my in-home wifi comes up as an "unidentified network" when i connect to it. It also doesn't give me the link to change it to a home network.

I'm not sure what else to try, so if you guys have any tips/help/suggestions, they'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks again.

DHCP is not enabled for Wireless Network Connection <- Here's your problem

I assume you've never heard of Google since the first result for this error message gives you a step by step set instructions to solve this problem.

In short make sure DHCP is turned on for the WiFi connection.

Alright, well the DHCP message is gone, but I'm still getting the default gateway is not available message.

It's possible the issue is with your Gateway device, not your laptop. Try the following:
a) use the laptop with no obstructions between it and the Gateway/Router
b) use any other device on your wi-fi connection

Other:
- make sure it's YOUR wireless connection (not a neighbors)
- make sure your network is SECURE
- if still stumped Google or try the network provider support

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm still experiencing the same issue. Nothing I've tried has worked so far. Here is the /ipconfig all from the problematic laptop, if it helps to have it.
