Greetings!
Perhaps this has been asked before by some other fellow with the same problem but, here is my story!
As embarrassing as it is to say this, I'm wanting to boost my ole computer to play...drumroll please...Farmville 2!! That being said let's state that right now when I play the game, it is S..L..O..W! Under the window where the per say game is states, I am playing the game without video acceleration and that it will be slow, make sure you have the latest version of Flash and yada yada...So what do I do, I think hey, instead of scrapping this ole computer let's give it a boost and give it a dedicated video card! I go out to a local computer shop, they sell me a used ATI Radeon 7500 32MB AGP video card for $10, and to much surprise Farmville2 still is S..L..O..W!!
I ask you...faithful readers, if you're still reading this, thank you, I invite you to read on...I ask you what do I do? At the time I type this I have bought a "new" ATI Radeon 9550 AGP with 256mb for $16.50 in hopes maybe I need a better card...but I thought I'd ask the professionals...YOU...for your opinion until the card ships! Below are the specs of my desktop computer...
HP 725n Desktop Tower (introduced March 2003)
Athlon 2400+ 2.0Ghz
nForce2-IGP
Current Memory: 1 Gig
Max Memory: 1 Gig
Hard Drive: 80 Gig 5400rpm
Video Graphics: Integrated nVidia GeForce4 MX graphics with up to 64 MB allocated video memory
++currently have installed ATI Radeon 7500 32mb AGP video card++
total available slots: 2 PCI slots and 1 AGP 8x (currently in use)
(note not PCI Express, just old regular PCI)
There ya have it, golly the more I write about it, the more I think I should look to buy a dual core or more used desktop and stop thinking that I could spare myself a few more years with this ole computer! The thing is, I really don't "game", just the online "farmville" games and thats it, so I really don't see the point of paying for a new or used "Alienware" kind of system! However a friend told me that due to the fact that the tablet market has driven the cost of desktops down, I could find a super great computer for cheap!
Thanks for reading this long message and I look forward to any and all replys!
Sincerely,
Bitterrooter
