I have 3 HDD's in my PC and it was downloaded onto my 2tb and right when I realized it was a fake program it deleted everything on it. It says 1.81tb available out of 1.81tb so I don't think its hidden.
I ran malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials and MSE cleared 1 severe status virus.
Is there any way for me to recover the files I lost on this drive?
I'm on Windows 7. The ONLY drive that got erased was the 2tb, not my SSD or other 500gig.

You can try recuva (http://www.piriform.com/recuva) it undeletes quite efficiently. If it cant find your files then they got overwritten proper.

Viruses very seldom delete your entire drive, can you check what the name of the virus was?

I'm trying "WinUndelete" now and it seems to be finding my files. It's only 27% done so far but I'm crossing my fingers it works! Thanks for the suggestion.

If the one I'm trying now doesn't work I'll give that one a try. I don't remember the name of the virus, I deleted it too fast and immediately regretted not writing down the name >.<

(just an EXAMPLE, many similar malware exist)

Be aware that the VIRUS/Malware may STILL EXIST!

You may wish to remove that hard drive and try it in a different machine. If there is a virus on your machine making it "see" your hard drive as empty then the drive should appear as normal on a different machine.

I also recommend running Malwarebytes as well.

It looks like it is making everything hidden but I can't find out where. Show hidden files and folders is on and in my add/remove programs I see all the programs I thought were gone still installed. How would I go about finding the locations for these?
