I am looking for a home pc including a monitor and windows 7 for around £500. Although I have fitted ram before I would not feel totally confident building my own system from scratch unless the saving would be significant.

It will be used mainly for browsing, films etc but also football manager and some dated racing sims (gtr2, rfactor) that I can play on medium on my current 5 year old pc.

So far I have found this which I like the look of for just under £400

-INTEL Ivybridge i5 3470 @ 3.2Ghz (Quad)
-ASUS P8H61-MX USB3
-4GB Memory
-500GB Hard Drive

I then need a monitor for around £100.

I would maybe fit a budget gpu such as a radeon 6670 for £50 depending on how bad the onboard graphics are at a later date.

Many thanks

One tool you could use to try and price/pick things out is PC Part Picker. There is a drop down menu for a variety of countries (different money systems) as well: http://pcpartpicker.com/

The built in GPU on the Ivybridge CPUs is surprisingly powerful. It can play quite a few games well from 2008 and back. I think what hits it hard is if the game requires specific technologies like higher shading. Someone else here might be able to give some feedback on that.
