I was advised to do these steps in order to run a game that fail to run. I want to know if there is any risk regarding the safety of my computer on the network after follow it?

Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP on Windows 7 (got the instructions from here):
Click Start, and then click Network. (click Start, type ncpa.cpl into the search box for Windows 7 or Vista, hit ENTER).
Click on the Network and Sharing Center
Click Manage Network Connections.
Right click on the Local Area Connection select Properties.
Select Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
Click the Advanced button under the General tab.
Click the WINS tab.
Click Enable NetBIOS Over TCP/IP.
Click OK and Exit the settings.
Back up SimCity just to be safe, this shouldn't actually delete any game files (Usually SimCity is located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity").
Then you must follow the instructions here to completely uninstall Origin.
After doing this, go back into regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > Origin Games. Depending on how many games you have you will find a few registry folders that come up as numbers.
If you click on any of these there will be a value in the right pane called "DisplayName", which shows the name of the game that registry location is for.
Find the registry (in the Origin Games registry folder) that shows SimCity for the DisplayName.
Once you find the SimCity registry folder, delete it!
Re-download a new Origin install file, and install Origin.
Now go to the location that you installed Origin in (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin) and find the "Origin.exe" file.
Right click the file and go to properties and then go to the compatibility tab. At the bottom there will be a check box with "Run this program as administrator". Check the box, click apply, then click ok.

I would not follow those instructions at all , you do not have to do any of that to make a game run that may have failed to run. Stay away from any thing that has to do with the registry because one mistake there and you will be reloading your operating system, same goes for the networking instructions;

None of this has anything to do with a game running on your computer , this only has to do with connecting to the internet. Where did you get this advice?

Please post a description of your problem so you can get good advice on what to do.

I would ALWAYS check official support, especially with the recent problems with sim city people are going to take advantage of all these problems.

It may suck now but it will get better in due time as it does with all games...
