Should make a great match, am3+ motherboards still take am3 cpus like the athlon and any pci-e graphics card will work with that board (every new board lol) but something like a 7850 or 660 will get bottlenecked by a athlon quad core, but a 650 gtx is a great pair

Just wanted to add, that I am on a budget build that I just finished with an Athlon II X4 640 and a GTX 650ti SSC 2GB. It really surprised me at gaming. I ran BF3 at Ultra (1080p) and got smooth frame rates. I ran Crysis 2 w/texture pak and DX11 at Extreme settings and also got smooth frame rates. I wasn't expecting that.
